The East Rochester School District has an opening for a Long-Term Substitute Elementary Special Education Teacher working in a special class setting. 

The start date is January 4, 2027, and it is anticipated to run through early April, with the possibility of extending through June 30, 2027.

• Provide Tier 1 instruction 
• Provide Tier 2 instruction, interventions, and counseling for K-5
• Support on-demand, initial intake, and counseling needs

• Help students realize their potential and make progress
• 504 Case Manager
• Maintain and enhance collaboration with team members and department members, including participation in relevant committees
• Lead building-level and community organization opportunities to enhance social-emotional student learning
• Utilize technology to maximize instruction and learning
• Support students in crises and provide appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being
• Conduct assessments and develop action plans for students who require additional support and guidance
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions
• Support building-level scheduling process as well as individual student schedules

Typical Duties: 

1. Assists with Health Education for staff and students. 
2. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the health needs of students and staff. 
3. Develop individual healthcare plans with specific goals, objectives, and interventions for students with special health needs and/or chronic health problems. 
4. Serves as liaison between the medical community, the school, and the staff regarding student health concerns. 
5. Assists with mandated School Immunization programs and screening programs. 
6. Assists in assessing in-school and community health care resources. 
7. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the PPS Director.
