Job Description

 

Middle School Special Education Teacher: Consultant Teacher Setting Plan and provide instruction for students with learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards. Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs. Develop lesson plans aligned with NYS Learning Standards and implement and evaluate those plans using best instructional and assessment practices. Develop, implement, and evaluate alternative behavior management plans. Work in a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Effectively communicate with school staff, families, districts, and community agencies. Manage and support classroom teams. Participate in ongoing training and learning opportunities. Job Qualifications

Must possess NYS Students with Disabilities Certification (K-12, 1-6, 7-12 generalist); prefer to have content certification or more than two years of experience in the following content areas: 7-12 English, 7-12 Math
