Job Description

The East Rochester School District is recruiting a full-time tenure-track educator who is a lifelong learner and demonstrates a commitment to an inclusive, student-centered approach to learning.

Secondary Special Education Consultant Teacher

• Plan and provide instruction for students with learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans utilizing best practices aligned with NYS Learning Standards.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate behavior management plans.

• Work in a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.

• Effectively communicate with school staff, families, districts, and community agencies.

• Lead, manage, and support the classroom team in order to create a positive classroom culture.

• Participate in ongoing training.

Job Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification Grades 7-12, NYS Literacy Certification- Preferred

• Knowledge and experience in implementing NYS standards, Core Curriculum, and NYS Alternative Assessment.
