Speech & Language Pathologist K-12 - Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
- Presents a comprehensive analysis of students' communication abilities and needs through the formal CSE evaluation process and other professional evaluation cycles.
- Develops and implements effective goals, techniques, and lessons.
- The SLP provides individual and group speech and language therapy for communication disorders, including functional communication, augmentative and alternative communication, oral-motor skills, speech and language development.
- Follows students' IEP to plan and implement speech and language activities, monitor student progress, and provide IEP updates during the school year.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, families, educators, and other professionals.
- Awareness and experience with relevant technology mediums would be ideal.
- Proficiency in conducting standardized assessments, interpreting results, and documenting progress.
- K-12 experience preferred.
- Familiarity with proper progress monitoring tools and Frontline IEP Management software.
- Knowledge of NYS Special Education Regulations and IEP development

The TIES (Together Including Every Student) Program promotes the participation of children and young adults who have developmental disabilities in inclusive, extracurricular, and community activities of their choice, by providing support from trained peer volunteers. This program is available to students between the ages of 8 and 21, with support provided by trained student volunteers in grades 8-12. The TIES Coordinator is essential in helping families explore available opportunities, developing support plans for each participant, and marketing TIES to the local school and community.
